Police in a comb drive arrested four alleged snatchers along with two firearms and huge quantity of bullets from Shahporan area in the city yesterday.
During the drive conducted around 4am, police recovered huge materials used in snatching as well.
The reported snatchers are MA Kaher Belal, Atik Ahmed, Swapan and Rubel. Besides, police detained one caretaker named Farid and his son Manik for questioning in this connection.
When asked, Deputy Police Commissioner (North) of SMP Foysal Mahmud confirmed the drive, saying that they were trying to arrest the ringleaders of the snatchers.
