A Brac Bank officer was abducted on Thursday night by a gang of miscreants when he was returning home from Jessore's Arabpur.
The abductors later on the same night demanded a ransom of Tk2 lakh over the mobile phone.

According to the victim’s father Tagore Das, his son Shankor joined Jessore's Arabpur Brac bank branch as an officer few days back. He attended office from his village home in Kotchandpur.
After office hour on Thursday night, around 10:30pm, Shankor was standing at Jessore Arabpur bus stand when he was kidnapped by miscreants on a sedan car.
Later that night, around 12:30am, the abductors demanded a ransom of Tk2 lakh calling Tagore on his mobile phone. The abductors further said Shankor would be left at Baluhor bus stand of Kotchandpur upazila if the ransom was paid.
Quoting his son, Tagore said the abductors called again on Friday night around 10:30pm and threatened that they would kill his son if help was taken from law enforcers.
