A college student has been chopped to death by miscreants in the capital’s Malibagh area on Wednesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Chanchal, 22, a HSC second year student of Abuzar Gifari University College of Malibagh.
Chanchal, son of late Abdul Quddus, resided in Tilpara of Khilgaon in the capital.
Sources said a youth Shahjalal of his area called him over mobile to go out and took him to Malibagh. Then, he was chopped indiscriminately by five to seven miscreants, leaving him injured seriously.
Locals rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries at 10pm, said Muzammel Haque, in-charge of the outpost of the hospital.
