2 held with 10,000 yaba pills in Chittagong

Rapid Action Battalion have detained two people with 10,000 pieces of yaba pills and cash Tk 1.40 lakh from a residence at Karnaphuli in Chittagong.

The detainees are Mohammad Ishaq, 35, a B.Com graduated of Omar Gani MES College and his brother-in-law Saifur Rahman, 22.

RAB 7 Commanding Officer Lt Colonel Mifta Uddin told Dhaka Tribune: “We raided the house and them around 2:30am on Wednesday.”

He said the detainees got the cash after selling yaba pills.

He said: “In initial interrogation, Ishaq said he got involved with the illegal work in oder to make money in a short time after failing to get job. He was detained by Department of Narcotic Control (DNC) five months back ago for the same reason.”

The RAB official said: “Ishaq collect yaba from Teknaf and sold it to the consumers with the assistance of Saifur.

“Highly ambitious Ishaq wanted to become rich quickly, however, his family’s financial condition is good.”
