Police have detained three youths for their suspected involvement with the killing of a Sramik Dal leader and three members of his family at Labankati village in Mymensingh.
The detainees are Rafiqul Islam, Hafizur Rahman and Abdul Baten. Baten was detained from Netrokona while the other two were detained from Bhaluka.
Harirbari union Sramik Dal General Secretary Rafikul Islam Bacchu, 35, his wife Parul Aktar, 27, daughters Jinia, 7, and Tinia, 3, were slaughtered early Tuesday.
Bacchu's father Waresh Ali filed a case with Bhaluka model police station accusing five people for the killing.
Later, local police transferred the case to the detective branch for investigation on Tuesday night.
