Police on Thursday have recovered a decomposed body of a rickshaw puller from a pond at Patiya upazila in Chittagong who went missing last Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Sajal Dash, 40, son of late Fonindo Lal Dash of the Kalishahar area of the upazila, said police sources.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Kamrul Hasan of Patiya police station said locals spotted the floating body in a pond of one Dilip Deb at Kalishahar area beside his residence around 11am and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy, said the SI.
As family members failed to trace him after missing, they lodged a missing dairy with Patiya police station, the police official said.
The rickshaw puller was addicted with drug, he added.
