A Dhaka court has granted three-day remand to Abdur Rauf Daud Merchant, an alleged aide of Dubai-based Indian mafia Daud Ibrahim.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nuru Mia passed the order on Wednesday afternoon when the investigation officer of the case produced him before it with a seven-day remand plea.
Meanwhile, defence lawyer Mohammad Hemayet Uddin Khan sought bail for Daud Merchant.
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested him under section 54 of Code of Criminal Proceedings (CRPC) from Khilgaon intersection area around 5:30pm on Tuesday.
However, defence lawyer claimed Daud was arrested from Kashempur jail gate soon after he secured bail in another case on Monday.
