Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and two deputy attorney generals, and Mahmudur’s counsel Tajul Islam were also present during the interrogation that took place from 1:30pm to 3:30pm.

Earlier in the day, the jail authorities produced Mahmudur before the court from Kashimpur jail.

After coming to Dhaka, the probe body sought permission from the Foreign Ministry for the interrogation. Then the ministry asked the attorney general to take initiative in this regard.

Following a petition of the attorney general, Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Bikash Kumar Saha directed the jail authorities to produce Mahmudur for the interrogation.
