A youth, who was stabbed by his friend in Chittagong city’s Agrabad area on Friday afternoon succumbed to his injuries in Chittagong Medical College Hospital yesterday morning.
The dead Mohammad Jalal, 20, son of Kamal Hossain, hailed from Brahamanbaria district, police sources said. CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (West) Tanvir Arafat said the alleged killer Mohammad Johir, 22, was arrested by the police from the area after the incident.
He said when Johir was locked in a scuffle with one of his friends over debt, Jalal tried to disperse the two but he was stabbed by Johir instead.
Later, Jalal was taken to CMCH where he was succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning, he said adding that a case was lodged with Double Mooring police station in this connection.
