A youth has been stabbed to death by his friend in Chittagong city’s Agrabad area over a trifling matter.
The deceased, Mohammad Jalal, 20, son of Kamal Hossain, hailed from Brahmanbaria district, said police sources.
Police, however, nabbed the alleged killer, Mohammad Zahir, 22, from the area after the incident, said Chittagong Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (West) Tanvir Arafat.
He said Zahir locked into a scuffle with one of his friends over his debt on Friday afternoon while Jalal tried to disperse both of them but he was stabbed by Zahir all on a sudden.
Later, Jalal was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning, said the police official.
A case was lodged with Double Mooring police station in this connection, he added.
