The robbers have shot a youth to death at Raozan upazila in Chittagong early Tuesday.
The deceased was Sumon Dash, 30, a barber by profession, son of Junu Chowdhury, a resident of Purba Binajuri area of the upazila, said police sources.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Khalilur Rahman of Raozan police station said a gang of robbers stormed into the house by breaking open door at the dead of the night.
Robbers shot Sumon as he starting shouting for help, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for autopsy, said the SI.
The gang of robbers looted valuables worth around Tk1,90,000 along with 14 mobile phones from six houses at the area during the robbery, the police official said.
The deceased’s brother Rubel filed a case in this connection, said the SI adding that police were conducting drive to arrest the robbers.
