Police arrested a fake Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) from the capital’s Bansree area Yesterday.
The arrested was identified as Kazi Masum.
Three police uniforms, seal on different ranks, pad, police cap, hanging badge, PATC’s 39th FTC written training bag, four phone sets, visiting cards of ten high police officials and a passport were recovered from his possession, said DMP Media and Publication Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman.
“Based on complain from a man on Friday that a police official demanding ransom of Tk5 lakh confining two persons named Dulal Ray and Rajon Biswash, a team from Khilgaon police station arrested the fake ASP and rescued the two from a house of Bansree,” Masudur went on.
