Customs officials seized 12 gold bars and chains weighing 15 kg from Shahjalal International Airport in the city on Saturday.
On a tip-off, customs officials searched the ladies toilet at the immigration clearance around 1:45 am and seized the gold bars and chains in an abandoned condition, said Umme Nahida, assistant director of the Customs Intelegence and Investigation Directorate.
However, no one was arrested in this connection. The market value of the gold is TK 7.5 crore. A case has been filed in this connection.
