The police in separate drives have arrested two persons in possession with 2,500 pieces of yaba tablets from Karnaphuli Bridge area of Bakalia in Chittagong city.
The arrestees are Md Abu Sayed, a bus staff, and Enamul Haque alias Joy.
Mohammed Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Bakalia police station, said police arrested Sayed along with 2,000 pieces of yaba tablets while Joy was arrested with 500 yaba tablets.
The OC said police raided a Chittagong city-bound bus coming from Teknaf and detained Sayed following a tip off. Later based on Sayed’s confession, police seized 2,000 yaba tablets kept inside the toolbox of the bus around 3am.
In another drive, police held Enamul along with the rest of yaba tablets from another bus, said the OC.
Two cases were filed with Bakalia police station in these connections.
