Police arrested three activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student front of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, from Adhuna village under Gournadi upazila of Barisal early yesterday. The arrested were identified as Nazmul Hossain Nahid, 19, son of Barek Sardar from Garangal village under Gournadi upazila of Barisal, Abdullah Al Mamun, 26, son of Abul Bashar from Sangkojkhali village under Sadar upazila of Magura, Nure Millat Jamaddar, 22, son of late Qari Abdur Rob Jamaddar from Vandaria upazila of Pirojpur district.
Abul Kalam, officer-in-charge of Gournadi police station said they had been arrested while they conducting secret meeting for doing sabotage at Adhuna village. Other participants of the meeting managed to flee from the scene.
