Railway police yesterday arrested a passenger with more than a lakh Saudi Riyal from the Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital.
Law enforcers found approximately 108,500 Saudi Riyal around 2:30pm in the possession of Mohammad Obaidul Islam, 33, son of Mofizul Islam of the Chittagong district.
Officer-in-Charge of Dhaka Railway police station Abdul Mazid said: “Obaidul came to the station on the Suborno Express. Acting on a tip-off, we searched his bag and found the Saudi currency.”
The OC said: “We detained him to find out where he was taking the money. We are preparing to file a case against him with the police station.”
