A Jubo League activist has been chopped by a gang of some unidentified miscreants in Gopinathpur under Lakshmipur Sadar upazila.
South Hamchadi Union Parishad Chairman Mir Shah Alam confirmed about the death incident to the Dhaka Tribune.
The deceased Mohon Patwari, 37, son of Ahmed Patwari of Gopinathpur village was a Jubo League member of South Hamchadi Union of the upazila, said Mahbubul Haque, Lakshmipur Sadar upazila Jubo League joint convener.
Witnesses said: “A gang of masked miscreants numbering five to six chopped Mohon at 10pm on Tuesday, leaving him dead on the spot.”
When contacted, Sadar police Officer-in-Charge Iqbal Hossain endorsed the death incident.
