Police arrested two alleged robbers in possession of firearms and bullets at Sadar upazila in Pirojpur on Tuesday.
They were identified as Sohrab, 40, son of Rustom Hawlader of Chhotoharzi village and Abdur Rahim, 35, son of Tujam Ali of another village of Mathbaria upazila. Confirming this, Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzak Molla said they recovered two single-barreled guns, 49 bullets and a machete and other materials used in the act of robbery from them.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Abdul Kader Begh said fisherman Jamal Mia of Kakchira village in Barguna’s Patharghata upazila had his trawler stolen five to six days before Eid-ul-Azha. OC Razzak said a robbery case and an arms case were underway against them, he said.
