The Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday submitted charge sheet against Hall-Mark Group Chairman Jasmine Islam in a case filed for not submitting a wealth statement within the stipulated time as asked by the anti-graft body.
ACC Deputy Director Monjur Morshed submitted the charge sheet to the general recording officer (GRO) of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court. The GRO, Sub-Inspector Gopal Chandra, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
The ACC on December 12 last year filed a case against Jasmine as she did not submit her wealth statement within due time.
Earlier on November 13, the commission sent a notice to Jasmine asking her to submit a wealth statement including all her properties and sources of income, within seven working days; however, as the deadline passed, her lawyer requested more time for submitting the wealth statement.
The commission extended the deadline by seven more days, which also expired on December 4, according to the case statement.
