Customs intelligence has arrested one person with one kg of gold from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital.
The detainee is Zakir Hossain of Shahrasti of Chandpur district, said an official of airport customs intelligence, reports BSS.
"We detained Zakir and seized one-kg of gold worth about Tk50 lakh hidden inside a charger-light while he was passing through the green channel of the airport around 12:30pm," he said.
Zakir arrived at Shahjalal airport by a flight of Malaysian Airlines, ‘MH-102’.
He travelled to Malaysia seven times this year, the official said adding filing of a case is underway in this regard.
