Police have recovered the dead body of a youth from a hotel in Chittagong city’s AK Khan Area on Monday night.
Quoting the hotel’s register book the deceased was identified as Md Mizan, 30, hailing from Chokoria Cox’s Bazar district, said Abdul Majid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Akbar Shah police station.
OC Abdul Majid said the youth boarded on Hotel Greenway in AK Khan area on Monday at around 2:00pm citing business purpose in the city.
Later in the night, the hotel’s staff found the door locked from the inside and informed the police of getting no response, said the OC adding that police recovered the dead body by breaking the door and sent it to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy.
Police also recovered two empty bottles of poison from the room and they assumed that the youth may have taken his life by drinking poison, said OC Majid.
Before his death Mizan messed up his SIM card as police are yet to find his real identity, he added.
An unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
