Police recovered two bodies, one of which was an Indian citizen’s, from Putkhali and Khalshi areas near the border in Beanpole, Jessore yesterday.
Local sources said the hanging body of one Rabindranath Bepari, 35, was recovered from Putkhali yesterday morning. Half an hour later body of Azgar Ali, 41, was recovered from a water body in Khalshi, sources said.
Rabindranath was the son of Punyacharan Bepari from Batiaghata upazila in Khulna and Azgar was the son of Ali Ahmad from Chakgachhi area in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Officer-in-Charge of Benapole Port police station Apurba Hasan told the Dhaka Tribine that seemingly Rabindra had committed suicide and Ajgar drowned in the water body while he was trying to cross into India. Police was investigating the incidents, the OC added.
