Neighbbours hacked two brothers to death yesterday morning in Nandail upazila of Mymensingh because of an old rivalry.
The deceased were Tofazzal Hossain, 60 and Swapan Mia, 30. They worked as rickshaw pullers in Dhaka. The two brothers went to their village for Eid-ul-Azha.
Sources said yesterday morning, when they came out of their home for the Fazr prayer, their neighbour Abul Khayer and his sons attacked Tofazzal and Swapan with machete, and left them dead on the spot.
Sattar, the deceased’s brother, said they were locked in a conflict over irrigation of their lands.
Officer-in-Charge of Nandail model police station Saiful Islam Farazi said they were trying to capture the murderers.
