Police have arrested two drug peddlers with 460 bottles of liquor and a microbus from Niyamat Sharak area in Gazipur town early Friday.
The arrestees are Ratan Bashfur, 40, of Niyamat Sharak area; and Shopon, 37, of Bhora area in Gazipur city.
Inspector of Gazipur Narcotics Control Department Farhad Hossain said the arrestees were smuggling 460 bottles of locally made liquor from Kumarkhada area of Gazipur with a microbus.
On a secret information, a team of Narcotics Control Department conducted a raid when the microbus reached Niyamat Sharak area around 2:30am on Friday and recovered 460 bottles of liquor.
However, the driver of microbus Rahmat Ali could manage to flee from the spot.
A case was filed with Joydebpur police station in this connection under drug control act.
