Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have detained three members of police with 33 bottles of phensedyl at Chunarughat border area of Habiganj early Tuesday.
The detainees are Chunarughat police station Sub-Inspector Arif, constables Abul Kalam and Komol Dey.
Lt Col Nasir of BGB 46 said the three police personnel were detained with 33 bottles of phensedyl from a CNG auto-rickshaw around 12am.
He said: "Police have to inform BGB if they conduct any drive in bordering areas. But the detainees were in plainclothes and had the phensedyl with them."
When contacted, detained SI Arif claimed that police had seized the phensedyl in a drive while acting on a tip off.
He, however, did not make any comment when asked why they were in plainclothes.
