An electrician of Petrobangla, who was stabbed by miscreants, has succumbed to his injury at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The deceased is Shahjahan Ali Khan, 63, a resident of Dogormora area in Savar.
Shahjahan's son Mithun Khan said: “Me and my father went to Ulail Bazaar to purchase animal for Eid-ul-Azha on Thursday afternoon.”
“While we were returning home, some unidentified masked miscreant attacked us with local weapons at Shimultola near our residence around 12:30am on Friday. One of them was a hijra,” he said.
He said: “They stabbed my father and looted Tk1 lakh and six mobiles from our possession.”
Savar police station Officer-in-Charge Mostafa Kamal said: “Locals took him to a local clinic. Later, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.”
He said: “A case has been filed with Savar police station in connection with the incident. Necessary steps have been taken to arrest the suspected miscreants.”
