A madrasa student has allegedly been violated after she made a complaint of stalking in Haimchar of Chandpur.
The police have already arrested the alleged rapist on charges of violating the seventh-grader.
Md Yasin, 25, son of Mominul Islam Sawdagor of Gandamara village, was arrested on Thursday after the victim's mother had filed a case against him with Haimchar police station.
The girl, who studies at ABS Fazil Madrasa, said Yasin on Wednesday afternoon picked her up while she was returning home from a neighbour's house, took her to a secluded place and raped her overnight.
Yasin dropped the girl outside her house in an unconscious state early yesterday morning. Locals came to know about the incident and captured Yasin before handing him over to police.
Police also detained Yasin's father Mominul Islam Sawdagor and one Ibrahim Khalil for questioning but later set them free.
The girl's mother Baby Begum said Yasin would often propose her daughter to develop illicit relation with him.
“I went to the madrasa authorities and also Yasin's guardians to talk to them but this infuriated him. He retaliated by raping my daughter. Now I want justice,” she added.
Officer-in-Charge of Haimchar police station Md Moniruzzaman said Yasin was detained in connection with the case and police were awaiting the girl's medical examination report.
