A mobile court sealed off a cinema hall in Pirojpur for not renewing its license and for screening foreign movies without any valid documents from the Censor Board.
The court, in a drive, sealed off Janata Cinema Hall on Saturday evening.
The court sentenced two movie operators Kalu Mia and Touhid to 15-days imprisonment each for screening foreign film “The Virus City” without removing the obscene scenes.
The court also fined them Tk 5,000 each, in default to suffer seven days more jail.
Executive Magistrate Sadik Tanvir said acting on a tip off, they raided the cinema hall at Krishnachura interaction of the town and sealed if off.
Later, the court jailed two of its operators.
