Customs officials have seized five gold bars worth Tk25 crore at Shah Amanat International Airport.
One person, Nurul Azim, was also detained in this connection.
Md Shahadat Hossain, assistant commissioner at the airport customs, told the Dhaka Tribune that Nurul Azim arrived at the airport by an Air Arabia flight around 9:30am.
"Five gold bars weighing 584 grams were found inside Nurul's luggage during checking at the airport," he added.
Nurul was kept under the custody of airport customs.
Meanwhile, one more gold bar was seized from the handle of luggage of another passenger of the same flight.
However, the passenger was released after the seizure of the gold bar.
