Police have arrested a female attendant of Gopalganj General Hospital on charges of attempting to steal a newborn baby.
Rehana Parvin, 25, daughter of Aziz Mollah of Gunhar village in Muksudpur upazila, was arrested in the 250-bed hospital around 11am on Friday.
Hospital sources said Rehana attempted to steal a male infant born to a young girl around 2am on Friday and escape unnoticed but was caught red-handed by patients and hospital staff.
