Coast guard personnel have detained 10 pirates at Hatia upazila of the district.
The detainees are Nur Nabi, 30, Mostafiz, 55, Dider, 20, Sahabuddin, 28, Saidul, 19, Abul Kalam, 38, Azmir, 35, Bhuttu, 28, Abul Kalam, 37, Mojibur, 28, and Karim, 35.
One shooter gun, five rounds of bullets and sharp weapons were seized from their possessions.
In-charge of Hatia Coast Guard Lieutenant Rahat said they were on routine patrol on the Meghna river. Meanwhile, they searched a boat and detained 10 pirates with the arms and ammunition.
