Schoolboy kidnapped in Narsingdi, rescued in Dhaka

Police rescued a schoolboy from Nandipara of Khilgaon area in the capital on Friday, two days after he had been abducted from Belabo area of Narsingdi district.

The rescued boy is Zahid Hasan, a class six student of Narayanpur Sarafat Ullah High School and son of Harris Mia of Sarabad village under Belabo upazila of the district.

Police also arrested three kidnappers. They are, Shahin Miah, 30, son of Shamsul Haque of Barai village under Comilla Sadar upazila, Rashedul Islam Sumon, 32, son of Ismail Hossain of Kajiraber village under Sharsha upazila in Jessore district, and Masud Mia, 22, son of Halim Uddin from Birashi village of Nandail upazila in Mymensingh.

Police Super Sheikh Rafiqul Islam endorsed the information at a press conference at Narsingdi police superintendent's office on Saturday afternoon.

Zahid was abducted from Narayanpur bus stand on Dhaka-Sylhet highway on Thursday.

Later, a group of five kidnappers took Zahid to a house at Nandipara in the capital's Khilgaon area and locked him there.

On Friday morning, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of Tk1 lakh to his elder brother over mobile phone.

Police rescued Zahid from a house at Nandipara by tracking the mobile phone on Friday night and arrested three kidnappers following a general diary by Zahid’s family.
