A total of 56 accused in different cases were arrested by Kushtia police in special drives across the district in last two days.
Police also recovered one light gun, four cocktails, 45 yaba tablets and five kilogramme weed from their possession.
Confirming the arrests, Kushtia Police Super Proloy Chisim told the Dhaka Tribune that seven arrestees were at sadar police station, five at Kumarkhali, 11 at Bheramara, 12 at Mirpur, 20 at Doulotpur and one at Islami Bishwabidyaloy police station.
