Unidentified miscreants have hacked a robber to death at Daulatpur Upazila in Kushtia.
Police recovered his body from a field of Boalia union of the area on Monday morning.
Deceased Shahidul Islam alias Fida, 40, was a member of an inter-district robbers' gang.
Officer-in-Charge of Daulatpur police station Enamul Haque said: “Miscreants hacked Fida to death last night and left him in Shehala field.”
He said: “Locals saw Shahidul's body lying on the field in the morning and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The miscreants could not be identified immediately, said the OC.
“Shahidul was accused in a dozen of cases of robbery, murder and miscellaneous crimes under Daulatpur and Gangni police stations,” he added.
