Unidentified miscreants have hacked a local robber leader to death in Machkhola area under Sadar Upazila in Satkhira early Saturday.
The deceased, Abu Daud, chief of Daud Bahini, was the son of Solaiman Gazi of the area.
Satkhira Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Golam Rahman said: “Some unidentified miscreants hacked Daud early Saturday, while he was going to a local fish firm, where he used to sleep at night.”
“Later, locals rescued him and then admitted him to Satkhira Sadar Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries around 12:30am.”
The official said: “Some 12 cases, including murder, robbery and extortion had been filed against the deceased with the police station.”
A case will be lodged soon in this connection, OC added.
