A youth has been sentenced to six months of imprisonment for sexually harassing a college girl at Milpara area in Kushtia city on Sunday.
A mobile court, headed by Kushtia District Magistrate S M Jamal Ahmed, sentenced Habib Sheikh alias Saju,35, son of Abdul Majid Sheikh of Milpara area around 12pm to six months of imprisonment.
According to the court, the victim was a HSC student of Kushtia Islamia College, whom Saju had reportedly been harassing sexually for more than eight months.
Saju continued to harass the girl despite repeated requests made by the victim's family to stop harassing her.
Later, the family filed a complaint with the Milpara police camp.
Police detained Saju at 11am on Sunday following the complaint and later produced him before the mobile court.
