Update : 17 Oct 2016, 09:01 PM
A man has surrendered to police after killing his brother-in-law in Terry Bazar area of Chittagong. Police recovered the decomposed body of the ill-fated victim identified as Anjan Dhar, 35, after breaking the door of the house on Monday morning. Anjan used to live in the house with his wife, two children, mother and his brother-in-law. Both Anjan and Babul used to work at a jewelry shop at the city’s Hazari Lane. Babul Dhar, 21, confessed to the police that he murdered his brother-in-law over a dispute with his sister. Quoting the murderer, police said that Babul killed his brother-in-law as he used to torture his sister. Abdur Rahim, CMP assistant commissioner (Kotwali zone) said that they were interrogating both the wife and the brother-in-law of the deceased. “Primarily, it seems that the murder took place a couple of days ago as the body got decomposed. The body was sent to the morgue of Chittagong Medical College Hospital,” said the assistant commissioner. Babul, after committing the murder, told his sister over phone to go to her parents’ house as her husband went to Manikchhari.
