Police have rescued a school girl from Naruhati of Sujanagar in Pabna, three days after her abduction.
Abductor Rabiul Islam, son of Sontosh Mondol of the area, was also arrested in the drive on Saturday.
The girl identified as Sumaiya Akter, daughter of Aiub Ali, was abducted three days ago from Savar. She is a class V student at Rajarbari Primary school in Savar.
Sumaiya's father said Rabiul kidnapped his daughter when she was going for tution on Thursday.
After the incident, he filed a case in Savar police station.
Officer-in-Charge of Savar model police station told the Dhaka Tribune: "We informed Ataikula police immediately after registering the case and they rescued the girl and kept her in their custody.”
Faizul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ataikula police station said: "Both the abductee and abductor are in our custody. We will hand over them as soon as the Savar police members arrive.”
