Police rescued a minor boy from Debinagar village in Sadar upazila yesterday afternoon, a day after his abduction from Laxminagar area of Narayanganj district.
The rescued is Imon, 6, son of Abdul Matin of Laxminagar under Fatullah police station of the district. Police arrested a man named Tajimul for his alleged involvement in the incident.
Officer-in-Charge of Sadar police station Jasim Uddin said a group of people of Debinagar had been working in the Laxminagar area for some days. They picked up Imon from in front of his residence on Thursday morning and demanded Tk5 lakh as ransom to his father Matin over mobile phone. The victim’s father filed a case with Fatullah police station in this connection.
Informed by Fatullah thana police, a team of Sadar police station of Chapainawabganj conducted a drive at the house of Tajimul at Debinagar village around 5pm tyesterday and rescued Imon from the house.
