A man was allegedly killed yesterday by his nephew in Sadar upazila of the district because of a family feud.
According to police sources, Alais Miah, 65, the son of late Abdur Noor of Khalispur village under Kamalpur union of the upazila, engaged in an altercation with his nephew Jayed Miah regarding a family feud.
At one stage, Jayed hit Alais on his head, leaving him critically injured.
Alais was sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital and later shifted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where he subsequently passed away.
Md Abdus Salek, officer-in-charge of Moulvibazar Sadar model police station, confirmed the incident.
