Police have recovered the decomposed body of a woman from a flat at a residential building in Moushumi area in Chittagong on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Pahartali police station Officer-in-Charge Azizur Rahman said: “A couple had rented the flat last December but they were not seen in the house since March.”
“The owner of the house informed about the matter to the police as they had not even paid the rent for the last four months,” he said.
On information, police broke into the house and recovered the decomposed body from a water drum around 2pm.
The OC said: “The body was wrapped in a plastic. We have estimated that she might have been killed four months ago. We did not get any information about her husband.”
“We are trying to find him,” he added.
