Customs officials of Benapole have arrested a person with illegal Indian medicines on Wednesday morning.
The arrestee is Arifur Rahman, son of Shamsul Haque of Bijoykara under Chaddagram upazila, Comilla.
Hasanuzzman, superintendent of Benapole customs, said: “He was arrested when illegal Indian medicines were recovered from his possessions while he was entering Bangladesh through Benapole check post.”
He said the arrestee claimed that he had gone to India for treatment and returned back with some medicines that are not available in Bangladesh.
Ariful was handed over to Benapole port police after filing a case.
