Assailants have hacked a Jubo League activist to death in Begunbari area under Mymensingh Sadar upazila on Tuesday night.
Deceased Sharif was a fish farmer and also a Jubo League activist.
Witnesses said there was a longtime conflict between the family members of Suruzzaman Khokon and Badal driver of Mirzapur village over a piece of land.
The supporters of Badal hacked Suruzzaman's nephew Sharif when he went to Begunbari around 9pm, leaving him critically injured.
Sharif died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Kotwali Model police station Officer-in-Charge Fazlul Karim said: “Land dispute might be the reason behind the murder. We are trying to arrest the culprits involved with the incident.”
