Night guard killed in Sylhet

A night guard of a madrasa has been killed by assailants in Bishwanath upazila in Sylhet early Thursday.

Deceased Abdul Motin Khan, 50, was a night guard of Kairghat Misbaul Ulum Dakhhil Madrasa in Deokolosh union. He was the son of late Abdul Quader.

Locals said assailants chopped him in the early hours of the day. Night guard of the local market Monsur Mia noticed him.

Motin died while being taken to the rural doctor.

Madrasa's Principal ASM Lufur Rahman confirmed about the death.

Bishwanath police station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Hossain said: “Police have visited the spot. The body has been sent to Osmani Hospital morgue for autopsy.”

“No one has been arrested in connection to the incident. We are trying to investigate the matter,” he said.
