A Jubo League leader, who received bullet in Jessore, has succumbed to his injuries at a city hospital on Wednesday evening.
Alauddin Mukul, maternal uncle of the victim, Alamgir Hossain, Jessore sadar upazila unit general secretary of Jubo League,confirmed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.
Shahidul Islam, officer in-charge of Jessore Kotwali police station told journalists that he had been informed about the death.
Alamgir was shot by some miscreants in Jessore district on May 25.
He was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka as his condition deteriorated.
After the incident, Anisur Rahman, superintendent of police, Jessore told the Dhaka Tribune that the incident took place following the feud between two Awami League leaders- Shahin Chaklader, general secretary, district unit AL and former lawmaker Khaledur Rahman Tito over establishing supremacy in the area.
“The victim gave death statement before the doctors. He told names of the miscreants in the statement,” he added.
