The woman and her lover together allegedly murdered the husband, Rezaul Karim Raja Miah, 45, who was general secretary of Gojaria Bus Service on the Daudkandi-Dhaka route, at Sotanandi village under Daudkandi Municipality of the district five days ago.
Daudkandi police station OC Md Abu Salam Miah Chy said it quoting Rezaul’s wife Alo Akter and her young lover Tapos Chandra Shil, 25, both of them were earlier arrested and gave statement confessing their involvement in the killing before a court of Sajjad Hossain, Senior Judicial Magistrate of Comilla Lower Court, under the section 164.
The OC stated that Alo and her lover Tapos, son of Shanti Ranjan Shil, of Dakkhin Sotanandi village of the upazila, planned to kill Rezaul one month ago and she drugged her husband with green coconut water on June 12 and informed her lover.
Later, they as well as Rashed killed Rezaul stabbing on the throat and dumped the body yard of the house to pass the buck others.
On the other hand, police were trying to arrest an accomplice of them named Rashed, 26, a resident of Chandina upazila here.
However, police recovered the weapons used in in the killing from the house of couple who has two children.
On June 13, police recovered the body of Rezaul who had been living in his father-in-law area hailing from Charcasi village in Gojaria upazila of Munshiganj.
