Customs officials have seized 36 gold bars weighing 4.2kg at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Monday morning.
Assistant Commissioner (customs) of the airport Kamrul Hasan said: “Acting on a tip off, a team of custom officials conducted a drive in a flight of Flydubai after it landed at the airport around 10am.”
He said: “The team recovered the gold bars worth Tk2 crore in an abandoned state from a toilet and under a seat of the flight .”
None was arrested in this connection.
