Robbers have stabbed a man and his daughter and cut off the wrist of his wife in capital’s Kajla in Jatrabari early on Thursday.
The injured are engineering workshop owner Mulluk Chan, 40, his wife Nargis Akhter, 35, and their daughter Mona Akhter, 16.
They have been admitted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
Mulluk’s brother’s wife Sabiha Akhter said: “A gang of masked robbers comprising four to five people stormed the house and looted gold ornaments and cash money keeping all of them hostage at gunpoint around 2:30am.”
“When they tried to resist the robbers from looting their ornaments and valuables, the robbers hacked Nargis indiscriminately with sharp weapons that detached her left hand wrist from the body”, she said.
“Mulluk Chan and his daughter Mona also sustained stab wounds at different parts of their bodies,” she added.
Sabiha, however, could not tell about the quantity of gold and valuables that were looted.
Inspector Aboni Shankar Kar, officer-in-charge of Jatrabari police station, said they have heard about the incident and forces were sent to visit the spot and to the hospital in order to talk to the victims.
Among the injured, the condition of Nargis Akhter is critical as the wrist of her left hand has been detached from her body, said the doctors at DMCH.
