Update : 03 Apr 2014, 01:25 PM

The detained Bangladesh Chhatra League activists from the Bangladesh Agricultural University unit have confessed to killing a student of the university.

The trio has been sent to prison after the confession was recorded. No request for remand was filed.

The campus unit Chhatra League Organising Secretary Sujoy Kumar Kundu, activists Ashraful Haque  and Rokonuzzaman Rokon made their confessions on Thursday.

Magistrate Farzana Yeasmin recorded the confessional statement under section 164 after the trio was produced at a Mymensingh court in the afternoon.

Saad Ibne Mamtaz, a fourth year fisheries department student and hall unit Chhatra League leader, was killed on Tuesday over internal feud.

Mymensingh Kotwali police arrested Chhatra League leader Sujoy Kumar, activists Ashraful Haque and Rokonuzzaman from around 8:30pm on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, students continued demonstrations at campus on Thursday in protest against the killing and demanding arrest of the killers of Saad.

They boycotted classes and examinations and staged a sit-in demonstration on the porch of BAU Vice Chancellor Professor Mohammad Rafiqul Hoque.

Chhatra League also held a presser at campus in the morning demanding punishment of the “real killers” after a proper investigation.
