A youth was killed and another critically injured allegedly after being shot by their fellows in Srinagar of Munshiganj on Monday.
The dead is Hanif Mia, 23, while Sohel Arman, 35, was bullet-hit.
Police said the duo and five others arrived at Paikshah village on three motorcycles from Dayaganj, Mirhajibagh of the capital on vacation around 5pm on Monday.
As locals rushed to the spot hearing gunshots, the five others fled the scene. They recovered Hanif’s body. Arman was found in a nearby paddy field.
The injured was rushed to Srinagar Shologhor Health Complex. Later he was taken to Dhaka by his relatives, Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman, OC of Shreenagar police station, said.
Arman’s wife Rahima Begum said her husband left the house around noon for a trip with friends. But she could not say anything about motive of the attack.
Sources said Arman had already given important information to the police.
The body of Hanif was kept at Sreenagar police station.
